Before arriving in Lubbock, William Kerns, arts and entertainer editor for the Lubbock Avalanche -Journal interviewed me via telephone and wrote a great pre-show piece and later wrote a stunning review. Both articles appeared in the AJ and Mr. Kerns’ online blog (see reviews). The committee also arranged interviews on the Jim Douglass/ Dave King Foxtalk in the Morning show and the KRFE Morning Show with Kenny Ketner /Wade Wilkes.
On Wednesday, Sue Weninger, Cliff Ashby and I were at LCT to begin preparations for the one technical rehearsal that evening.Jay Brown, LCT artistic director, was on hand to assist.
All performances were sold out, which was quite thrilling. Every evening was a wonderful experience with terrific audiences. After each performance, the committee arranged a lovely reception where I had an opportunity to chat with audience members. The number one comment I heard over and over again was, “Why didn’t I know about Frances Perkins before now?” Audiences have consistently said the play was not only good, but also a great education.
